The web interface, redesigned by Sven van Ginkel

The tab strip is now a sidebar, and every page is redrawn. Sven van Ginkel (@svenvg93) contributed the whole redesign as BMC-UI#46: a Dashboard that takes in the About page, Power Control where Nodes was, and Cooling and Switch as pages of their own. Nothing the interface asks the daemon changed. Bookmarks to /nodes and /about no longer land anywhere — they show "page not found" — and Power Control and the Dashboard are where to look instead.

  • A new web interface, by Sven van Ginkel (@svenvg93). The tab strip across the top is replaced by a sidebar — Board, Configuration and System — with a breadcrumb above every page, and every page is redrawn in stock shadcn/ui on Base UI.

    The Dashboard now carries the board's facts, its health and the four node tiles, and takes in what the separate About page used to say; Cooling and Switch are pages of their own; on a phone the sidebar is a sheet. The fleet gains a Switch tab to match. Contributed in BMC-UI#46 — thank you, Sven.

    Nothing the interface asks the daemon changed, so a board's behaviour is the same; only how it is shown moved. Two addresses are gone: a bookmark to /nodes or /about now shows "page not found" — Power Control and the Dashboard replace them.

  • The interface is stock shadcn/ui now, on Base UI, with a sidebar. It was shadcn in name only: the generated components had been rewritten into pill-shaped lime buttons, colours were written out by hand (about 250 neutral-*, amber-* and dark: classes), and cards, tables, callouts and tabs were bare divs. BMC-UI 4.0.0

    Now: - Theme. shadcn's neutral theme as CSS variables, so light and dark come from one set of tokens, plus one colour of our own, warning, for the amber facts that are neither an error nor nothing. Inter is still self-hosted: the CLI's Google-font import was taken back out. - Components. Every ui/ component is the base-nova registry version on @base-ui/react; all eleven @radix-ui/* packages and vaul are gone. Sections are Cards, warnings are Alerts, statuses are Badges, and confirmations are AlertDialogs, which on a phone are the same dialog rather than a second, drawer form of it. - Navigation is shadcn's sidebar-03 block: Board, Configuration and System, with a breadcrumb above every page. It replaces the three-width header and the tab strip, and is a sheet on a phone. The fleet keeps its own layout, with its board and tab rows as Tabs. - Kept on purpose. Field names (every form reads its values by name), the fix for BMC-Firmware#48 (a controlled password box must pass onChange through; see TextField.tsx), the fleet's board prefix on toasts, and three toasts at once. - One behaviour change. The "confirm within N s" box on the address and switch cards appears once there is an edit to time, not before. - Size. dist/ is 1,796,200 B, up from 1,648,790 (+8.9 %). JS +90 KB, because Base UI and floating-ui weigh more than the Radix packages they replace. CSS 60 KB → 117 KB (18 KB gzipped), from shadcn's class vocabulary across thirty components. npm run screens: no new faults. npm run type-test: 30 inputs, every one keeps what is typed. - Old addresses are dropped on purpose. /nodes and /about have no redirect: bookmarks to /nodes and /about now 404; Power Control and the Dashboard replace them. An unknown address shows the 404 page.
